The summary of todays Indian National News: In news today, Indo-US nuclear deal, DMK-PMK alliance, police-farmers clash in Nizamabad, New update on Aarushi murder case, Indo-Us Nuclear deal which is a pet project of Dr Manmohan Singh is hanging fire for a long time. The government wants to sign the agreement before the next general elections which are due in early 2009. In a final push to make the leftists agree to the deal Dr Manmohan Singh sent Mr Prnab Mukharjee to meet the left leaders and convince them the importance of the deal for India. Meanwhile many countries including Russia urged the Indian government to sign the deal
There are clashes between farmers and police in Nizamabad district of Andhra Pradesh. The farmers were demanding quality seeds for agricultural purpose. A bandh (shutdown) was observed in Armur of Nizamabad district against police firing. Some of the leaders of farmers were arrested and later released on bail. The state Government ordered an enquiry in to the incidents of firing and clashes.
