13 SIMI activists including the SIMI chief arrested: Safdar Nagori who happens to be the chief of the outlawed organization SIMI (Student Islamic movement of India) was arrested today in Indore by a Madhya Pradesh special task force police.
FIR against Orrissa house speaker: An FIR has been lodged against the house speaker of Orissa, Maheswar Mohanty for allegedly harassing and asking sexual favors from his subordinate
The Supreme Court has ordered reinvestigation of 10 cases on Godhra .
A five-member Special Investigation team will investigate this case. The decision has been welcomed by the petitioner NHRC and Gujarat state government. |

The land was categorized as forest land, however builders constructed houses and sold it to people. - Heroin worth Rs. 22 crore seized from Purshotam Lal Sondhi who is a youth Akali dal leader - New Airport at Hyderabad causes confusion. Travelers had to face inconvenience because of communication gap between Airlines and the Airport authority. Inconveniencies like these go unreported. - India holds "war games" demonstration in Pokhran which was a demonstration observed by international observers from 60 countries. The purpose was to show India's latest military strength. The observers were impressed. However about three Indian troops were killed on the spot by an accident in the above operation. Investigations are underway. Faulty ammunition is being blamed for the deaths. - Anti-Conversion bill passed by Rajasthan Assembly. - Two Babbar Khalsa terrorists arrested in Delhi. - India tops the chart for remittances with $27bn in the year 2007 |

About 17 naxals have been killed in Andhra Pradesh police near the Chhattisgarh border. This issue can become a big newsmaker soon as Naxals plan to retaliate. This operation is said to be a big strategic blow to Naxal operations in that region. Bloodshed in Northeast: Eleven Hindi Speaking people slaughtered in Assam (and media still does not look into this issue). This is a national news. We have been reporting about growing violence in Assam which is a highly underrated news item. What is most shameful is that USA today carried this article while most of the Indian "Newspapers" ignored it. 14 People killed in Manipur. All 14 are believed to be Non-Manipuris. - Taslima accused Indian politicians of using vote bank politics. Statements like these are really shameful for Indian image worldwide.
