- India holds "war games" demonstration in Pokhran which was a demonstration observed by international observers from 60 countries. The purpose was to show India's latest military strength. The observers were impressed. However about three Indian troops were killed on the spot by an accident in the above operation. Investigations are underway. Faulty ammunition is being blamed for the deaths.

About 17 naxals have been killed in Andhra Pradesh police near the Chhattisgarh  border. This issue can become a big newsmaker soon as Naxals plan to retaliate. This operation is said to be a big strategic blow to Naxal operations in that region.

Eleven Hindi Speaking people slaughtered in Assam (and media still does not look into this issue). This is a national news. We have been reporting about growing violence in Assam which is a highly underrated news item.
