The summary of today’s Indian National News: In news today: DMK and RJD support nuclear deal. Chinese troops entered the Indian territory at Sikkim. Floods hit Orissa and Bengal, and a few other stories. The Congress party today received support from DMK and RJD for signing the Indo-US nuclear deal. However the left continues to be adamant that the deal should not be signed. The left is even threatening to withdraw support from the government. Meanwhile the BJP is preparing for the general elections, which it expected to be held by this year end.
The CBI appears to be in a state of confusion in the Aarushi Talwar Murder case. After claiming that the compounder Krishana had confessed to the involvement in the Murders, they again wanted one more lie detector test on Dr Talwar and also asked for his judicial custody. Finally it is a happy ending to the Gujjar agitation with the accord signed. The Rajasthan Congress has also welcomed the agrement. The Chinese troops entered the Indian territory at Sikkim. Many people were displaced and many killed in the floods that effected Orissa and Bengal. Meanwhile the army was called in to assist the civil authorities in the flood hit areas. Thousands of people attended the funeral of Mrs Padmapriya at Udupi. Mrs Pamapriya wife of Udupi MLA Mr Bhat alleged to have committed suicide at Delhi. Meanwhile many organistions demanded an impartial enquiry in to her death. There were demonstrations by various women's groups at Bangalore, Udupi and Mangalore.
