The trust motion to be taken up on July 21st has caused strange political equations. Some of the friends like Samajwadi parties and the CPM found themselves to be on the opposite camps and bitter enemies BJP and CPM found themselves to be in the same side. The loyalties of Shivsena and Telangana Rashtra Samithi are also not clear.

The left parties today started their campaign against the UPA on the nuclear deal issue and increasing price rise. The meeting scheduled between CBI chief and the head of federal investigation bureau of Pakistan was cancelled as India feels that Pakistan is responsible for the recent Bomb blast in Afghanistan near the Indian Embassy. Veteran CPM leader Jyothi Basu advised speaker Mr Somnath Chaterjee to toe the party line and resign the post of speaker next week. He was advised to vote against the government. Mr Chaterjee feels that as a speaker of the House he does not belong to any party and need not resign. There seems to be a rift in the left parties as the West Bengal sports minister says that Mr Chaterjee need not resign, while the party feels that he should resign. At least 15 people were injured in the clashes between the Kashmiri separatists and the workers of both PDP and National Conference parties. The political parties celebrated |

The IAEA assured uninterrupted fuel supply to India's Nuclear reactors as this is one of the conditions the Indian government put forward for signing the Nuclear deal. The IAEA is also considering various safe guards as per the Indian government’s decision. The Karnataka cabinet is likely to be expanded soon to accommodate three more members in the cabinet. The three members would be the members who recently resigned from JD(s) and Congress and joined the BJP. The Mumbai High Court stayed the admission to the Junior colleges till July 14th. This is in response to a Public Interest litigation filed against the 70% reservation of seats in colleges to local students. Meanwhile the student community is divided over the issue with some students supporting the reservation and some against it. |

The left parties has submitted a written letter to the President withdrawing support to the UPA government at the centre. However the UPA is not worried as some other parties including the Samajwadi party submitted letters to the president supporting the UPA government at the centre. However the left parties clarified that they will not bring out any crisis now as the Prime Minister is attending a conference at Tokyo. An Ex Jharkhand Minister who is a JD(U) MLA and some of his followers were shot dead by Naxalites in Jarkhand. |
