Jaipur: Eleven people were killed when the police tried to stop a group of angry protesting Gujjar tribesmen in the state of Rajasthan, one policeman also died in this operation. The agitation was stated by the members of the Gujjar community, who have been demanding a Scheduled Caste status for quite some time. The agitation turned violent and the police had to fire at them resulting in eleven deaths. |

New Delhi: A key terrorist suspect was nabbed along with three kg RDX . The terrorist was identified as Abdur Rehman alias Mohammad Iqbal (31) who belonged to a Bangladesh-based militant group called Harkat-ul-Jehadi Islami (HuJI). Rehman was remanded to 11 days Delhi Police custody for further investigation. |

Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) performed poorly in the west bengal Panchayat elections. CPI-M lost the Panchayat elections in several districts, including Nandigram and Singur. Trinamool Congress on did well in the Nandigram and Singur areas. |
