The Gujjar agitation in Rajasthan ended today after an agreement between Gujjars and the Rajastan Chief Minister. As per the agreement the Gujjar's will get a 5% quota under a new bracket created in the OBC category. However it cannot be said that the Gujjars won their case comprehensively as they demanded the status of ST but this demand was not met. However the Gujjars seem to be happy with the numbers they got under the new special category. |

Ex Rajasthan Minister Mr Kishorilal Meena resigned from the Rajasthan Assembly. According to the sources the reason given was that He is unhappy with way the Gujjar agitation was handled by the Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje. However the real reason appears to be some where else. He is one of the senior members of BJP. There is a difference of opinion on many things with Vasundara Raje. Though a senor member he was not given any Ministerial berth by Mrs Raje. He is very unhappy and complained many a time against Mres Raje to the BJP high command. However his resignation is unlikely to be accepted by the high command. Already in trouble with Gujjars, the BJP does not want to antagonize another powerful community of Meenas. |
