Media feeds us with crap and we feed on it. In this article we did a critique a news item (similar to movie reviews). We look at news items around the popular news sources and critique them, (both positive and negative).

Dork Media

This was a published on the front page of IBNlive website. Collaborated with the international news giant CNN, we would have expected better quality of news items.

So here are a few deplorable things that we noticed on the website.

It would have been interesting to shove a news item which is a filler material somewhere down the news item but calling filler material the top news is not the best idea. Ibnlive had this news item on its front-page under “Top news” a place where they usually have their headlines.

The headline reads “Haryana Cops do Google search to solve porn mystery”. This headline is incorrect. When we say Incorrect we mean factually incorrect. The Haryana Police approached Google Inc for help, they did not do a Google search. Asking for help from Google is different than doing a Google search.

What is with the image associated with the news item? It is just a Screenshot of someone who just typed those words. The caption below says “MOST SEARCHED”. We are not really sure what it means? At least the search term IBN live folks typed in is definitely not the most searched term (according to Google’s annual stats)

Reading the news also makes us wonder if Indian police start chasing every morphing case on the Internet how many years can it take to solve them all.
