Traditionally, investing in the Indian market has been broker-driven. True, brokers do act as analysts, but their importance has not been great.
Recently many companies have been raising funds in international markets. Many analysts track the price movements in international markets which have led to an increase in the number of companies being tracked by analysts. Corporate India is slowly, but surely, progressing by embracing analysts. Soon the analysts may even influence price formation in the domestic market as well.
Irrespective of what strikes you when you first see this word you are thinking and that is the base for this article . I was watching "2001:a space odyssey " yesterday and i did realise something peculiar something so obvious yet which seems so complex, yes it is just "thinking".
This movie by Stanley Kubrick is based on the book of the same name by Arthur.C.Clarke and some instances of the movie sure made me think. The movie and the book starts with the dawn of the man .It depicts how the neolithic man seated among a pile of bones, wonders by some intution what this white piece of hard thing could be used for.He then tries breaking the other bones around him with that hard piece and thus a weapon is born. Similarly Clarke had predicted voice recognition ,HAL Supercomputer with human emotions ,human hibernation and revolving space ship in his book and ofcourse which the movie depicts. He was the not the only in the list and there are more like da vinci and all other inventors. The point which i like to tell here is that thinking today has become as complex as the environment around us. Thinking has become a process and not an expression. It has become bounded by constraints and limits created by humans called examinations .It has been tainted with money ,pride and what not.It has gone complex and simple solutions are thought complexly and that is what is structured. In my opinion thinking could not be structured as done by bono and other so called great thinkers .Thinking is freedom , a freedom of an expression,an expression to be rejoiced no matter what whackier it is and that is how invention is born ,ideas are born . Applying rules to think and thinking for the sake of money does do no good.if thinking is your passion think ur passion and thus we would get the benefits of it. Thus people reading this "FEEL FREE TO THINK " and remember "Thinking to THINK is not Thinking at ALL"
As i see things, we humans started off in groups and tribes- then it was "tribe loyalty" which kept people together as a close-knit group. Then, with advancement in weaponry and innovation in battle techniques, came the concept of kingdoms in Asia and Europe and the subsequent expansion of kingdom's across various continents and their ability to bind people together with mixed results. Then slowly came the rise of religion across the world as a major force- here we see that the rise of islamic warriors and the strong powers given to the christian church gave a whole new fervent dimension to loyalty (now the spiritual life and the political life was more intertwined than ever before). Then slowly as "nations" came to the fore, nationalism became the driving force for rulers and politicians around the world (as i see it, nationalism engraved itself all the more in the human psyche after the Industrial Revolution...i am definitely not commenting on the cause and effect relationship here). The suicidal Japanese kamikazis, the German army in the 1930s and 40s, the hatred that still persisits in the mind of Chinese people towards the Britishers for the Opium War of the 19th century are all glaring examples of nationalism at work.
Recently I came across a family who are in the habit of celebrating their daughter's birthday in a very ideal manner. They visit near by orphanage with plenty of fruit, sweets and a big cake. They cut the cake amidst those less fortunate kids and distribute toys apart from fruit and sweets. The happiness of those inmates is unimaginable as such occasions are rare for them. Such gestures of some people may not change the lives of those, who are deprived of normal family bondages but surely can bring light into their lives. If only many like minded people adhere to such noble practices and encourage others too to follow their path.
Many social organizations are working really hard to provide at least the basic needs for the less loved children of the society, unfortunately it is not a very easy task. Finances being the constraint and the escalating cost of the commodities reaching sky high, meeting all the needs and fulfilling every wish of these young ones is not an easy task.
Needless to say it is the duty of every member of the society to bring smiles into their lives. It can always start on a small note but when charity becomes a habit in ones life, things are sure to change. One need not burden his purse to start in this direction. Many articles that are of no use for our household may be their necessity. Old school bags, half used note books, old text books, out dated furniture are few to mention. They adorn our attic and collect dust. Happiness gets multifold in our selves and in the heart of the recipient. Urge that rises from within to give away a small chunk to others is a positive sign to spread happiness around. Let us all realize that we should teach our children too about the value of love and caring for others.
Children are very eager to learn and they absorb things very easily if they are properly told. It is the responsibility of the parents and teachers to catch them young and mould them perfectly. Impressions are firm and strong on the young minds during the formative stages of their life. We can inculcate all good habits and introduce the child to the wonderful world with the finest qualities. Parents and teachers should work in unison to make the child understand the importance of love ,caring for others and sharing things with others. A child who develops such fine qualities is certain to spread love and happiness around.
Let us not forget that we may not be able to drive away the darkness in totality but we can always light a candle .
