There have been reports of tense situations between Hindus and Christians after violence in the little known Kandhamal district became a National News. Many reporters were quick to jump in and so were the politicians starting the blame games. There however are a bunch of unsolved mysteries and unanswered questions that are emerging as the days pass by.
As we looked into the lesser covered topics and tried to unearth the real cause of the happenings a lot of interesting revelations came out. Undoubtedly both sides are to blame and undoubtedly a lot of innocent bystanders are being affected as well. However the real mystery still remains "Who killed Swami Lakshamanananda Saraswati and four other people on Aug 23rd ?
The Maoists have owned up their role for the murder. However if the Maoists were the real cause then why have been the supporters of Swami Lakshamanananda targeting the Christian Missionaries? Why have the Maoists trying so hard claiming their role in the murder. They have released not one, not two but three press releases stating that it was them who killed Swami Lakshamanananda. An act that seems to be desperately enacted to protect the Christian Missionaries. Why did the Maoists target VHP and not the Christian Missionaries. As all the questions arise, the Orissa police have been diligently trying to track down the culprits in all the cases related to this issue. However the complexity of this situation might be too much for the cops to handle at the moment.
It is hard to answer all the unanswered questions however it is easy to state that persecution of minorities is on the rise and it is bringing a bad name to India. The crux of the problem is to solve the complex dynamics involving the VHP, Bajrang Dal and the Christian Missionaries and see what is bothering their co-existence. Because often in a conflict the weakest person gets most impacted but the real issue is of course to see what is the root cause and not who took the most beating. All these complex rivalries result in loss of innocent human lives. |
