News Commentary: There is a massive man hunt going on for terrorists who are suspected behind the blasts that shook Delhi last week. The Delhi police have done their due diligence and released the sketches of the suspects . In a way it is the same old story, a powerful blast occurs, eyewitness provide information and police release sketches and the case ends there. The exact same thing happened with the Hyderabad blasts that took place nearly one year back. The police cant be blamed as they are doing the best they can. The state intelligence needs to be improved and even better the source of the dissatisfaction should be quelled as much as possible. The blasts and recent activities have taken a huge hit on to congress on a long run. There has been no direct impact however there are two aspects that will definitely hurt Congress. The first aspect being that Modi openly criticized Congress that he informed the attack on the capital ahead of time and the center still did not respond. Although the role of opposition always is to blame the government, however since Modi stated a specific fact this should surely be heard by those who otherwise disagree with Modi. Even though this statement may or may not help Modi but it surely will hurt Congress upto some extent. The second major long term blow came to congress as Indian Mujahideen attacked Congress for using Muslims as a votebank and not doing anything from them. Previously only BJP or Shiv Sena used to be under attack from these organizations, however Congress has been included in the target. This may influence at least a few Muslim voters to sway away from Congress. Although most voters don’t support the Indian Mujahideen outfit people still do look at the truthfulness of any acquisition made. Hence any acquisition will tend to hurt Congress.
