A bomb ripped through the Indian Embassy in Afghanistan killing about forty one people and injuring over one hundred and fifty Afghan officials state that they have evidence that supports the fact that Pakistan might have a hand in this blast while Pakistan denied its hand in any such activity. The Afghani government is known to be a bit hostile towards Pakistan since the fall of the Taliban regime.
The explosives that have been used in the attack were highly sophisticated and afghan officials stated that it seems to be a well planned effort. Of those killed four were Indian citizens. Indian President Smt. Pratibha Devisingh Patil has expressed deep sorrow of the passing away of Defense Attache Brigadier R.D. Mehta, Counsellor Venkateswara Rao of the Indian Foreign Service, Ajai Pathania and Roop Singh both of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police in the terrorist attack on the Indian Embassy in Kabul |
