As per the agreement the Gujjar's will get a 5% quota under a new bracket created in the OBC category. However it cannot be said that the Gujjars won their case comprehensively as they demanded the status of ST but this demand was not met. However the Gujjars seem to be happy with the numbers they got under the new special category.

The Gujjars have been already enjoying reservations in the OBC quota. The new additional benefit received by them will be a 5% guaranteed quota within the new bracket in the OBC category. The Rajasthan Government sent a letter to the Centre in this regard. Both the Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje and Bainsla congratulated each other on this matter.

The Agitation started on 23 May 2008 and left 37 people dead and several hundred injured. This agitation also resulted in loss of several billon Rupees due to disruption in trade and damage caused due to the violence.
