Yeddyurappa talks with Manmohan |

The newly elected Karnataka Chief Minister Mr B.S.Yeddyurappa made a courtesy call on Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh yesterday. Dr. Manmohan Singh congratulated Shri Yeddyurappa on his victory. Dr Singh also assured that the central government will continue to provide all support for Karnataka’s development. He urged the state government to take active interest in the implementation of the various development programs launched by the central government including the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme, the National Rural Health Mission, and the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission.
According to the official press release, the Prime Minister assured the Chief Minister of support for infrastructure development in the state. Prime minister recognized the national and international importance of Bangalore and emphasized on the development of the city to be a national priority. He also promised that the Central Government will do what ever is necessary for the same. BJP leader Mr B S Yeddyurappa was sworn in last week as the Chief Minister of Karnataka and became the first BJP Chief Minster in south India. |
