BJP leader Mr B S Yeddyurappa will be sworn in today as the Chief Minister of Karnataka. This is a landmark day for BJPas this is the first time BJP come to power in any of the southern states. To mark this important feat many prominent BJP leaders will preside over the swearing in ceremony.

This is Yeddyurappa's second stint as the Karnataka Chief Minister. He was the chief minister for a week in  November 2007.
Out of the 224 Assembly seats, BJP won 110 needed 3 more to be in power. BJP now enjoys the support of six independent MLAs.

Some key elements in the BJP's manifesto include increasing the poverty line to Rs 60 000 per family, providing drinking water in Bangalore and improve city traffic. BJP even promised cyber cafes in every village.
