As the Gujjar agitation continued for one more day the issue has reached center.  Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje wrote a letter to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh about this issue. Both the center and state governments have been passing the buck and expecting the other side to resolve this complex issue.

BJP claims that the responsibility for declaring a community as a  Scheduled Trible is with the Centre and not the State government. Congress however is trying to blame BJP for not handling the situation well.
Meanwhile the army is already in the affected areas and brining the situation under control. The road and rail traffic however still remains crippled.
Currently the best solution seems to be the one where a 4-6% reservation might be provided to Gujjars and this will be on top of any existing ST reservations. The Gujjars however want to be included in the ST tribe.
There will most probably be a cabinet meeting this week to resolve the issue.
The Gujjar community is currently under OBC (Other Backward caste) they however want to be listed as ST (Scheduled Tribe) for greater benefits.
