You can call it the advent of new usage of technology or you can call it a new enterprising way to make quick money. Reliance is making a new feature available where the students of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) can check their 12th examination results on their cell phone

The results can be found free on the CBSE's website, but unfortunately on the day when results are announced the heavy net traffic results in a the website operating very slowly. This leaves many students trying to access their results in vain. Most of the students don’t mind getting their results faster by spending a couple of bucks. The results can be checked via voice portal by dialing 51234 815 or via the Reliance mobile educational portal by dialing 53030 815. Both costs  @ Rs 2.40 per minute. Students can also access results of other state board examinations.

It seems this venture has proved very profitable for reliance as Reliance announced that it is going to expand this to cover the results to several other engineering and medical exams. It is a win-win situation where the anxious students can get the information fast and Reliance can rack up a bunch of money
