Supreme Court Upholds OBC quota |

In a landmark decision, the supreme court upheld the decision of implementing 27% quota for OBCs in in government-run institutes of higher learning. The supreme court however stated that the creamy layer should be left out of it. The bench, also sought a review once in every five years of see of this law is making the improvements in the society that it was intended to make. The final list of admissions to the Indian Institutes of Management (IIM), will be dealyed by about a week because of this judgement. These lists were supposed to be released this Friday. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati welcomed the Supreme Court verdict.
