Mr Arun Jaitley who is currently BJP general secretary in charge of the Karnataka Assembly elections released the first list of 136 names of for the candidates who will be contesting the upcoming Karnataka Assembly elections. The state of Karnataka is divided into 223 constituencies of Legislative assembly, so the 136 names released by BJP represent more than 50 percent of the total seats for grabs in the next election. BJP had 79 seats in the dissolved Karnataka Assembly and was the single largest party.
